a shooting star – /
an instant in the winter night – /
icicle in flight //

This poem is written for Carpe Diem’s “Only the First Line” #3. Our task was to write a haiku with the following first line: “a shooting star”. This will be a more non-traditional Western-style haiku. [Instead of 5-7-5 syllables, I have 4-8-5.]
