Birds and scrolls printer's ornament. Graphics Fairy

At Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, our task was to take this lovely haiku by Becca Givens and add two lines (in approximately 7-7) to create a tanka.   This is called ‘tan renga’.

Here is our host’s offering:

nature sleeps
carpet of silent snow
red leaf falls                                   (Becca)

in the middle of the night
bad dreams torturing me          (Chèvrefeuille)

And here is my own:

nature sleeps
carpet of silent snow
red leaf falls                                  (Becca)

spiraling out of autumn
into stillness                                 (Jen R)

fallen leaf
